Winter Drawings
January
I started last week back in my studio continuing with the winter garden series, I often find it challenging to start back on a project after a break and I felt that I had lost momentum on it. I took photos of Cambo Gardens in Fife over Christmas, I shared in a previous post, and I knew that I wanted to use them as a jumping off point to get drawing again, what felt a little overwhelming though was that I had too many ideas of what I wanted to explore in the prints I want to make this month, almost too many options or possibilities to try and so I wanted to simplify my ideas down.
I thought it was interesting to try out asking myself some questions about the work I wanted to make, this isn’t something I have tried before but I learnt that it could be useful in future to have a list of questions - especially if you are also easily distracted and tend to endlessly try out new techniques.
Here few of my super simple questions that I have added some notes too.
What is my colour palette?
